DOKENE / LEGAL
Privacy Policy
How information is handled on this website and in development testing.
Last updated: October 21, 2026
1. Who is responsible
Steven Rey Sequeira, based in Costa Rica, is responsible for this Dokene project website and development inquiries. Contact: stevdrey@gmail.com.
2. Scope and development status
Dokene is an open-source customer follow-up application for small businesses, currently in active development and not available for production use. This policy covers this public information website, communications with the project maintainer, and explicitly arranged development testing. It does not announce a live customer service.
3. Information collected on this website
This static website has no account registration, contact form, advertising pixels, embedded social widgets, or project-operated analytics. Its pages do not set application cookies or use browser storage. Cloudflare provides hosting and network delivery and may process technical request information, such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and request time, for delivery, security, and operational purposes. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request and maintain relevant correspondence. Please do not send passwords, access tokens, or sensitive customer records.
4. Development testing and WhatsApp
Development tests are separate from this website and are arranged with participating testers. Where a tester voluntarily participates in a WhatsApp test, the test may process the participating phone number, profile name made available by WhatsApp, message content, message identifiers, timestamps, and delivery or read events. This information is used to check integration behavior and troubleshoot problems. Only authorized test data should be used; the project is not currently offered for live customer messaging.
WhatsApp test delivery uses Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta processes information under its applicable terms and WhatsApp Privacy Policy. Dokene is not operated by or affiliated with Meta. Future production services or additional processing, including AI features, will require an updated notice describing the actual deployment and providers before use.
5. Use and disclosure
Information received by the maintainer is used to answer inquiries, carry out agreed tests, investigate errors, and protect the project. We do not sell personal information or use test messages for advertising. Information may be handled by the hosting, email, and messaging services used for those purposes, or disclosed when required by applicable law. Providers may process data outside Costa Rica under their own applicable safeguards and policies.
6. Retention and security
Correspondence and test information are retained only as needed for the inquiry, agreed testing, security, or applicable legal obligations. There is no fixed production retention schedule because the production service has not launched. Test data should be removed when it is no longer required. We use reasonable access restrictions and safeguards appropriate to development, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Requests and deletion
You may contact stevdrey@gmail.com to request access, correction, deletion, or clarification concerning information held by the maintainer, or to withdraw participation in testing. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request relates to your data. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and legitimate retention obligations. See Data deletion instructions. For a business using a future independently operated Dokene deployment, contact that business about the customer data it controls.
8. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes to development testing will be communicated to affected testers as appropriate.
